Lemon Drizzle recruitment has been appointed to recruit a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager for a Regional Main Contractor based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

An introduction to the Company and what it’s like to work for them

This is a well-established design & build contractor who predominately build industrial units for retail clients in the North East of England. They have a new project due to start early next year which is a 5.5m industrial unit in Gateshead and seek a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to manage the project from cradle to grave, leading the design team and maximising opportunities for value engineering. The position has derived from organic growth and the company wish to employ the successful PM/SPM on a permanent basis.

What you’ll be doing and be responsible for

The main objective of the role is to be able to manage the project from tender stage to handover completion. You will be supported by an Assistant Project Manager/Site Manager and your focus will be on leading the design, value engineering, build programming (using Asta software) managing the client relationship and taking overall responsibility that the project is delivered safely on time and within budget. You will be project based from 7.30am – 4.30pm and report into the Directors.

Who is this role ideal for?

This opportunity would suit an experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate being able to manage commercial new build projects from inception to completion, ideally with a Regional Main Contractor.

  • Commercial build experience in similar role (industrial would be advantageous)
  • Can lead the design team from tender stage.
  • Can see opportunities for and maximise value engineering.
  • Good IT knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Asta or equivalent and have the ability to produce build programmes.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS.
