QTS Tutor
Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Authorities across the North East. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.
We are currently looking for a Secondary Science Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to provide support to pupils who are not currently accessing mainstream education.
Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must hold QTS
Prospero are recruiting for a Science Tutor who holds QTS to work on a 1:1 basis with a young person who is entering Year 11. This individual struggles with their anxiety and as such has not been able to attend their school provision. As their Tutor, you will help them with ther engagement and learning with Science. It is essential that candidates hold a Qualified Teacher Status and have experience working with Social Emotional and Mental Health. To be successful in this role, you will need to be patient, empathetic and understanding.
About the role:
Located in Gateshead and the surrounding areas.
Flexible hours available to suit the needs of yourself and the young person
GBP25 - GBP30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Valid QTS
Secondary School experience or evidence of working with children in a Science Teacher/Tutor role
Confidence and experience working with students with Anxiety as well as SEMH
The ability and willingness to travel
What we need from you:
Hold a Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced Children's DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide a minimum of two references covering the last 2 years.
