About the Role:
Gateshead Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protection Social Worker to join our Children's Social Care team. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding and protecting children at risk, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and investigations of child protection concerns
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans to address the needs of children and families
- Work closely with families, schools, and other agencies to provide support and intervention
- Represent the council in court proceedings and other legal matters
- Contribute to the development and implementation of child protection policies and procedures
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Social Work degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience in child protection work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding principles
