We are still seeking a L3 TA Early Years SEND for this academic year.

Early Years Specialist L3 -

Working peripatetically across nurseries and EY settings in Gateshead as part of the EY High Incidence Needs Team (team of specialist teachers and TAs who work with children in nurseries and PVIs in the areas of ASC, SEMH, SLCN and Cognition & Learning difficulties).

Must have experience of working in Early Years settings and have the confidence to work into nursery settings coaching and modelling strategies (that have been designed by the EY HINT teachers) to nursery and PVI staff.

Excellent ICT skills a must with experience of Microsoft Office including Outlook and SharePoint - iPad will be provided.
Requirement to work flexibly across Gateshead and travel independently to settings or have access to mobility support.

This role is full-time (37 hours per week) 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs and (phone number removed)pm on Friday.

This role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities.
  • Preparing resources for lessons.
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
  • Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with pupils.

This role requires:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • Ideally a recognised Childcare-based qualification, although again, this is not essential.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students. Again, this is not essential.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
