*Teaching Assistant - SEN*
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £84 - 108 per day

An outstanding SEN school in Gateshead is looking for a teaching assistant to work with a class of 6 pupils with special educational needs. Each class has around 3 to 4 teaching assistants and the school provides amazing training on communication, sensory strategies and behaviour management for new members of staff.
The school offers a range of different hours and staff have an early finish at 3pm on a Friday.
The headteacher is very supportive and is looking to hear from teaching assistants that have an eagerness to learn and be part of a friendly team.
The main teaching assistant duties will include:
Supporting the pupils in their education through the schools own curriculum
Supporting the class teacher with recording attainment, behaviour plans and EHCP paperwork
Carrying out interventions in small groups and 1:1
Following the schools behaviour management policy effectively
Promoting independence with life skills
Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
The ideal teaching assistant will:
Be available for work Monday to Friday
Have some experience with autism (desirable but not essential)
Candidates with no experience but a willingness to learn are welcome to apply
Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
A full checkable work history
