THE JOB

This exciting Lead Digital PMO & Systems Manager job based from their offices in Gatwick is a permanent opportunity. You will be someone with extensive experience in Digital Transformation on a large scale and want to impact a business with change and efficiencies.

Your duties will include:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive Digital PMO strategy, aligning digital tools, processes, and governance with the airport’s strategic objectives to drive efficiency and performance in capital project delivery.
  • Drive the digital transformation of project management processes, identifying opportunities to integrate automation, data analytics, and AI-driven decision support systems to optimise project outcomes.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Information Management strategy using BIM, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and industry best practices:
  • Define the overarching approach and roadmap for BIM implementation, integrating it into the wider Digital PMO strategy.
  • Identify and incorporate leading practices to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and project transparency through digital workflows.
  • Own and evolve critical IT systems that underpin capital delivery procedures, ensuring they remain cutting-edge, user-friendly, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Develop and oversee the Common Data Environment (CDE) to facilitate seamless integration of project data, ensuring robust data governance, real-time insights, and enhanced decision-making.
  • Champion governance and compliance with project lifecycleTollgate points, providing expert guidance to address gaps and supporting teams in meeting requirements.
  • Lead a diverse team of Process, Systems, and Controls experts as well as cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and delivering enhanced capital project outcomes.
  • Implement a structured digital maturity model to continuously assess and enhance digital adoption across project teams, driving continuous improvement in project delivery.
  • Manage external benchmarking to evaluate project performance and the effectiveness of project management processes, using insights to drive process improvements.
  • Conduct planned internal and external audits for process and contractual compliance, reporting findings to leadership and programme teams, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process automation, leveraging digital innovations to improve safety, cost, time, and quality outcomes.
  • Establish a suite of assurance metrics and real-time reporting dashboards to track project performance, compliance, and contractual adherence, driving data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and refine technical procedures (e.g., for commercial or schedule management) that align with the overall project delivery framework.
  • Lead and maintain comprehensive capital project documentation procedures, ensuring strict adherence to standards and supporting the integration of digital tools and best practices.
  • Drive a culture of innovation by identifying and implementing emerging technologies and digital solutions, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of digital project management and construction methodologies.?

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven expertise in leading digital transformation within capital project environments
  • Practitioner level in project management (e.g., APM Project Management Qualification PMQ or PRINCE2 Practitioner)
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification (Black Belt) with a strong track record of applying continuous improvement principles to drive operational efficiency and enhance project delivery is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing Digital PMO strategies, with a focus on optimising project delivery, governance, and decision-making through innovative digital tools and platforms.
  • Experience with advanced IT systems and a thorough understanding of BIM platforms, Common
  • Data Environments (CDE), and digital tools that support the capital delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills to address challenges and ensure alignment across diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of capital project procedural frameworks and proven success in implementing and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2015). preferably in a digital context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve project outcomes.
