Creative UI Designer

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Creative UI Designer to join their team, Inside IR35.  This is a 12-month rolling contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extension.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £54.69 per hour

Position Description:

Creative interaction designer required to work on a fast-paced project producing a creative vision for a new automotive HMI system (China market focused). Our client needs someone who can work as part of a small creative team producing concept visualisations (UI) to showcase the digital creative direction for this vehicle concept. Their focus is on defining the creative language and visualising this across a set of key screens and interactions in both static and animated deliverables.

They will need to provide their partner with Figma source files containing components and layouts that can be used to produce further screens/states/features in the HMI alongside guidelines and animations detailing how things should look/work.

They are looking for someone who primarily can work in After Effects stitching together 2D assets created in Figma and 3D assets created in Blender to create these animations. Ideally this person would have experience in UI/UX/Interaction design and be comfortable working as part of the team to define the concept and interfaces

Skills Required:

• Proficient in Adobe After effects both in 2D and 3D Storyboarding - animation flow - create a visual representation of the animation’s narrative
• Transitions/ Micro-animations/ compositing Proficient in Figma (2D) for UI design (auto layout components etc)

Experience Required:

• This is not a junior role (mid/senior only - min 3 years agency/client-side experience with related portfolio of work)
• Must be comfortable working to a brief to tight deadlines
• Strong creative thinking and ideation
• Exploring multiple ideas evaluating and iterating

Experience Preferred:

• Desirable to have a knowledge of blender but not essential.
• Automotive experience is a benefit but not a requirement.
• Ideally portfolio can demonstrate experience of delivering creative work for product UI/HMI
