Vehicle Dynamics PAT Leader
Location: Gaydon (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35
Rate: £33.53 per hour (Umbrella)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Vehicle Dynamics PAT Leader to play a critical role in the development and optimisation of steering, ride, handling, and stability attributes. This role will focus on enhancing the customer driving experience through the precise design, development, measurement, and balance of key chassis components, including suspension systems, compliant mounts, wheels, and tyres.
The Vehicle Dynamics PAT Leader will be responsible for planning and ensuring the delivery of all aspects of vehicle dynamics performance. This includes managing and tracking progress, coordinating cross-functional teams, and providing data-driven recommendations to balance cost, weight, and vehicle performance. The role requires collaboration with multiple teams to ensure the highest standards of driving dynamics are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of vehicle steering, ride, handling, and stability attributes.
- Manage, track, and communicate progress towards achieving programme targets.
- Use Vehicle Dynamics data to provide recommendations on cost, weight, and performance trade-offs.
- Support vehicle testing and validation, including travel as required.
Skills Required:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and resources.
- A solid understanding of Vehicle Dynamics fundamentals at both vehicle and system levels.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects involving multiple systems, facilities, and resources.
- Hands-on experience with chassis tuneable and their impact on vehicle dynamics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including the use of structured techniques such as Root Cause Analysis and 8D problem solving.
Experience Preferred:
- Working knowledge of AGILE methodologies.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Subjective vehicle assessment skills with the ability to identify and communicate Vehicle Dynamics issues.
