Vehicle Dynamics Engineer
Location: Gaydon (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35
Rate: £26.65 per hour - Umbrella

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to contribute to the ride, steering, and handling development of world-class vehicles. This role focuses on supporting the tuning and integration of all aspects of dynamics attribute delivery from concept to production. The successful candidate will gain experience across multiple vehicle dynamics disciplines while assisting senior engineers in key deliverables, as well as managing and delivering technical projects independently.

A strong understanding of the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, combined with a keen interest in driving and subjective evaluation, is essential. The role involves significant travel across the EU for testing and business meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the tuning and integration of vehicle dynamics attributes from concept through to production.
  • Assist senior engineers while also taking ownership of technical projects.
  • Conduct subjective and objective vehicle dynamics assessments.
  • Utilise CAE tools and system/component testing methods to enhance vehicle performance.
  • Travel across the EU for testing and business meetings as required.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics fundamentals (theoretical and/or practical experience).
  • Experience with vehicle development tools, including subjective/objective evaluation, CAE tools, and system-level/component testing.
  • High level of driving competence with a full UK driving licence.
  • Must be able to pass all relevant internal driving courses.

Experience Required:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in vehicle dynamics (theory and/or practical application).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage project delivery with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.

Experience Preferred:

  • Previous experience in vehicle dynamics tuning.
  • Demonstrated high-performance driving skills (e.g., driving courses, racing experience).
  • Project management experience within an automotive or engineering setting.
  • Formal training in vehicle dynamics.
  • Knowledge of vehicle development processes such as PCDS/AMPCS.
