Vehicle Engineering Lead Engineer

Location: Gaydon (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35
Rate: £33.25 per hour (Umbrella)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Vehicle Engineering Lead Engineer to drive the successful delivery of vehicles that meet customer expectations. This role is responsible for ensuring robust attribute integration, geometric optimisation, and systems/features compatibility to deliver a high-quality product.

The Vehicle Engineering Lead Engineer will play a key role in target setting and sign-off, leading cross-functional reviews and ensuring seamless integration across vehicle systems. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments, including Attributes, Product Character & Performance, Design, Marketing, and Programme Domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering targets and sign-off for vehicle programmes.
  • Lead cross-functional Geometric Integration reviews to assess system compatibility and resolve failure modes.
  • Drive Systems Integration by ensuring functional system compatibility to deliver high-quality customer features.
  • Support Attribute Integration activities to achieve robust target delivery and engineering sign-off integrity.
  • Coordinate engineering activities to resolve incompatibilities and meet programme milestones.
  • Support the delivery of in-flight programmes to Plant Nitra, including participation in LRR reviews.

Skills Required:

  • Technical knowledge and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Working knowledge of AGILE principles and toolsets.

Experience Required:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
  • Experience working with automotive platforms.
  • Ability to rapidly interpret AIMS, RMDV, GRADE, R+R, and deviation data to drive process progression.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills to drive programme success.
