Nursery Manager – up to £45,000 – Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire

You’ll be responsible for the overall running of a nursery licensed for up to 100 children. Your role will involve leading the team, maintaining excellent standards of care and education, and ensuring operational efficiency across the setting. Support is always available from internal HR, recruitment, and operational teams, but you’ll be the face and heart of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, support and inspire the nursery team
  • Create a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Oversee recruitment, induction and team development

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the highest standards of care and safety
  • Oversee the delivery of a high-quality EYFS curriculum
  • Handle daily operational challenges with confidence

Financial Oversight

  • Support with budget monitoring, fee collection and invoicing
  • Track performance against agreed targets

Family & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Ensure families feel informed, involved and valued

The Person

  • Experienced Nursery Manager with a background in leading high-performing teams
  • Ideally someone who has opened a nursery or significantly improved an existing setting
  • Proven record of role progression, improved Ofsted ratings, or team development
  • Level 3 or above in Early Years
  • Confident leader with strong people management skills
  • Hands-on, solutions-focused and resilient
  • Excellent communicator with sound organisational ability
  • Deep understanding of EYFS and nursery operations
