Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support students with complex learning needs, ensuring they receive personalised and meaningful learning experiences that promote growth and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to the needs of students with PMLD

  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personal Care Plans (PCPs)

  • Adapt classroom materials and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement

  • Support the development of life skills and independence in pupils

  • Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and mobility

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor and support student progress

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with PMLD or complex special educational needs (preferably in a school or care setting)

  • Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton, and sensory-based learning approaches

  • Strong sense of empathy, patience, and commitment to supporting children with additional needs

  • Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Relevant SEN qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
