Parachute Packer
Our client are global-leading ejection seat manufacturers, specialising in protecting the aircrew of state-of-the-art military aircraft.
They are currently looking for a Parachute Packer to join their team to assist with packing and repacking of both new and deployed parachutes/drogues to required specifications.
This role plays a critical part of the manufacturing process of the ejector seat, playing a key part in saving lives of aircrew.
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am to 5pm Mon - Thurs & 8am to 12pm Friday
Salary: Up to 30k p/a
Key Responsibilities:
- Pack parachutes and drogues in accordance to strict technical specifications
- Carry out thorough quality checks, checking for flaws and minor issues and reporting when required
- Prepare parachutes for loading into presses and utilising press to ensure parachutes/drogues are compressed in accordance to drawings
- Record Batch numbers and complete history sheets
- Contribute to development programmes on both working methods and specifications of head boxes, parachutes and drogues (inc prototypes)
Required skills and traits:
- Previous experience in packing parachutes, i.e Armed Forces, Sky Diving
- Engineering background with experience of working from technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Work well as part of a team
