A company based near Gilberdyke is on the hunt for a Business Development Manager. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading the Company’s income generation and profitability in line with the annually updated targets. This will be achieved through continuously working to improve the customer base and the development of the products.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales growth: take ownership of the sales growth targets, understanding how/ why these have been arrived at and which areas of the business require the most focus and attention.
     
  • Key Account and prospect contact strategy: delivering the right type and levels of activity to ensure company sales and margin targets and Customer Profile objectives are achieved or exceeded. Overnight trips could be a feature.
     
  • Pipeline management: progressively manage and report your sales pipeline (including prospect names and conversion rates), closing all possible opportunities to achieve your targets and improve conversion rates. This includes taking ownership of the Sales Enquiry Process ensuring your colleagues follow the correct process when handling any direct sales enquiry. Ensuring that the CRM is kept up to date at all times so there is clear visibility of our sales funnel volumes and values.
     
  • Product expert: be seen by peers, prospects and customers as an expert in the markets that we operate within which enables you to add value by solving problems.
     
  • Market penetration: the conversion of prospects and the development of new customer relationships, researching the company and analysing market data to ensure we meet and consistently exceed their requirements in a profitable way.
     
  • Market knowledge: staying up to date with market developments through detailed research and external activities. Then working closely with colleagues to ensure we create new products to meet the demands of the market: ensuring we remaining customer driven and innovative; maximising market opportunities and filling factory capacity.
     
  • New product development: working with the management team to identify areas where the Company can solve customer problems.
     
  • Pricing: ensure regular reviews are undertaken on all products and services so that they exceed minimum Gross Margin expectations and remain appropriate in the marketplace.
     
  • Customer retention: once you have acquired new business you must work to retain customers in a profitable and ethical manner, focusing on growing and developing the relationship to maximise the income from those relationships.
     
  • KPI’s: forecast and track key performance indicators: make full use of the customer profiling data and other internal information to formulate workable strategies that result in you exceeding target. Preparing monthly progress reports to the Board.
     
  • Marketing responsibility: working with the Marketing Manager on all marketing activities to ensure the Company delivers the sales targets.


THE PERSON:

To be considered for the role, you MUST have previous sales experience in a business development / hunter capacity. It would be advantageous if you have worked within or sold into the construction industry, but this isn’t necessary.
 

WHATS ON OFFER:

  • £45,000 £50,000 salary per annum

The role is office based, however you will be expected to travel to see customers, as well as exhibitions in the UK.
