TPF Recruitment, Kent's leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is seeking an Accounts Senior to join a thriving firm of chartered accountants in Rochester, Kent. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a background in accountancy practice to become part of their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including not-for-profit organisations such as charities and membership bodies, as well as some corporate clients.

The successful candidate will manage a full range of accounting tasks for sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships, covering accounts preparation, management accounts, tax, bookkeeping, and VAT.

  • Preparing management accounts to a year-end standard, including lead schedule reconciliations and wage journals
  • Collaborating with clients' teams on ad-hoc requests and preparing budgets
  • Completing quarterly VAT returns for clients
  • Monitoring and summarising monthly cash flow
  • Producing monthly reports, including detailed profit & loss statements, departmental analysis, variances, balance sheets, and updating forecasts, with a focus on transitioning from Excel reports to Power BI
  • Reviewing and coordinating budgets with all budget holders
  • Preparing and submitting returns to the Charity Commission
  • Conducting monthly meetings (in-person or virtual) to review management accounts and financial matters with national heads and the COO
  • Attending Finance Committee and Audit & Risk meetings throughout the year
  • Presenting financial updates at four annual Board meetings, including time for preparation.
Requirements
  • ACA/ ACA qualified, or qualified by experience
  • You will have substantial experience within practice, preparing accounts, management accounts, tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
