The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a variety of commercial projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, pricing, and market trends, as well as the ability to work closely with clients, project managers, and design teams to ensure the best solutions are offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial projects.
- Provide cost analysis and develop budgets for electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, security systems, and HVAC electrical components.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes for materials, equipment, and labor.
- Prepare and submit tender bids for electrical works, ensuring that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
- Assist the project management team in evaluating design changes and managing variations to the scope of work.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement) to ensure estimates reflect the latest design information.
- Prepare detailed reports on project costs, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cost databases, and electrical systems to ensure competitive pricing.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably within the commercial sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry standards.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Estimation, Takeoff) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field would be advantageous.
