Finance Officer | Kent / Hybrid Working | 35k

Our client, a well-established and fantastic charity in Kent is looking to appoint an Finance Officer to join their team orientated finance department in Kent. The role offers candidates good variety in a busy and changing environment and would be an excellent opportunity for someone studying their AAT or with a few years finance experience behind them.

We are looking for an experienced person to join our team and who is familiar with all the tasks of a busy finance office.

  • Work within the established administrative and financial systems to ensure smooth running and quality of day-to-day processing and projects
  • Produce accurate ad hoc reports as requested
  • Answer internal and external queries in relation to your role in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure databases are updated on a regular basis with correct information
  • Complete and keep up to date: monthly reports, quarterly statistics, traffic lights and development plans

You will take an active role in the day to day transactions of the finance function, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Take an active role in the day to day transactions of the finance function

o This may require you to complete sales/purchase ledger or bank recs for instance - you will be an integral part of the day to day processing team

o Respond to any queries

  • Monthly management accounts preparation including preparation and review of reconciliations

o Assist with the preparation of, and collate information to enable timely reporting

o Liaise with establishment managers to ensure monthly returns are completed on time

  • Annual statutory accounts preparation including management of year end audits

o Assist with the preparation of the annual audit pack

o Collate relevant information throughout the year

  • Grant income monitoring
  • Completion of Office for National Statistics enquiries
  • Assist with financial reports for Board and Committee meetings
