Financial Controller | Medway - on site | Up to £70k

Cobb & Jones are exclusively partnering with a private equity backed group of businesses who are highly acquisitive and going through an exciting period of growth and process improvement. Due to this growth, they have a newly created Financial Controller role, reporting to the Director of Finance, and managing a small team.

The Financial Controller will responsible for the preparation, consolidation, and interrogation of financial information for the largest business in the group, and reporting to the holding company.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Interrogation of the monthly management accounts
  • Support in the collation of the local monthly board packs
  • Analysis of month-end accounts
  • Preparation of the group consolidated accounts
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Support in the preparation and co-ordination of group audit & statutory accounts
  • Company cashflow & working capital management
  • Identifying areas for development within financial reporting across the business
  • Seek cost consolidation / efficiency opportunities
  • Providing ad hoc support to the Director of Finance
  • Modelling, analysis, and data collation
  • Liaison with external advisors and banks
  • Supporting the onboarding of new acquisitions
  • Managing and training the finance team to support internal growth
  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA or ACA), have experience managing teams and possess strong interpersonal skills in order to forge strong working relationships throughout the business.
