You will be working for an independent, forward-looking firm that continues to build on its traditional roots and reputation. Their clients have a wide geographical spread, mainly within the Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset areas. This is very much a general practice role, primarily dealing with a mixed bag of limited companies, sole traders, and also some personal tax work if it is of interest to the successful candidate. It is likely that roughly one-third of the work will be audit-based, so the role could suit someone currently in an audit role seeking a broader general practice role, or someone currently undertaking an accounts preparation role looking to expand their experience into audit. The firm can offer a varied and interesting role to the right candidate with a broad cross-section of work and early responsibility if required. You will need to have previous work experience gained in an accountancy practice dealing with accounts preparation and/or audit work for a variety of clients - this is essential. Ideally, you will have working knowledge of computerised accounts preparation packages, including Xero, and exposure to Making Tax Digital would be an added bonus, as well as a working knowledge of taxation. As well as a competitive salary commensurate with your qualifications and experience, this position offers the successful individual an excellent opportunity to join a growing rural practice where they will be given every opportunity to expand their experience and ability. Study support is on offer if required, but if given, this would be taken into account in the overall package offered. If this sounds like the sort of opportunity you are looking for, and you have the required experience in accountancy practice, please apply straight away or feel free to contact Emily Oakes directly on for a confidential career discussion about this and/or other opportunities that may be available to you. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position, so you will need to have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
