Are you a passionate and adaptable Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology and experience teaching Hospitality?

We are seeking a reliable and experienced educator to join the team at one of our forward-thinking co-educational secondary schools in Gillingham, Medway. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives in a supportive and progressive environment. The position is available immediately and will run until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging Lessons: Deliver dynamic and interactive Design and Technology lessons, specialising in Food Technology and Hospitality, catering to students of varying abilities from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
  • Creative Teaching: Implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement in Food Technology and Hospitality.
  • Supportive Environment: Create an inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages students to reach their full potential in both practical and theoretical aspects of Food Technology and Hospitality.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative Curriculum Design: Work with colleagues to design and deliver an inspiring curriculum that aligns with national standards and the school's educational objectives.
  • Community Building: Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative learning community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Or equivalent certification.
  • Specialism in Food Technology: A degree in Design and Technology or a related field, with a strong focus on Food Technology.
  • Hospitality Experience: Proven experience teaching Hospitality at the secondary level.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience within a mainstream secondary school environment is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS: Must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the UK national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate students.
