Are you a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer ready to play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects within the water industry? Our client, a leading contractor within the water sector, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to support critical projects within the Southern Water framework across North Kent.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and review detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and technical documentation for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil and electrical engineers, to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Provide technical expertise during the project lifecycle, from concept design through to commissioning.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits to oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and resolve mechanical design challenges, offering innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support the mentoring and development of junior engineers within the team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, ideally within the water sector or related infrastructure industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, pipelines, and treatment plant equipment.
• Familiarity with Southern Water frameworks or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is an advantage.
