Finance Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to lead our clients accounts department and provide essential financial management information. This role is crucial for the efficient and profitable operation of our legal practice.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage the accounts department ensuring compliance with the Solicitor’s Accounts Rules.
- Conduct training for accounts staff and liaise with the firm’s auditors regarding Solicitors Accounts Rules audits.
- Manage the firm’s payroll, including annual returns to HMRC, P11Ds, maintaining payroll records, and liaising with the firm’s payroll bureau.
- Produce VAT returns and manage VAT payments.
- Complete Companies House returns and prepare monthly management accounts.
- Provide ad hoc financial information to the Partners and oversee financial control on expenditures.
- Prepare year-end management accounts and liaise with the firm’s accountants to produce year-end accounts.
- Maintain relationships with the firm’s banks and suppliers and manage the firm’s nominal ledgers.
- Assist and collaborate with the firm’s other senior managers.
- Attend Senior Management Team meetings and other meetings as required by the firm.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Finance Manager in a Legal Practice.
- In-depth knowledge of Solicitor’s Accounts Rules.
- High level of IT skills, particularly in practice management software and Excel.
