Fire Alarm Installation Engineer

Gillingham

£35k-£40k per annum

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Engineer to join our projects team in Gillingham. In this role, you will be responsible for installing advanced fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install advanced fire alarm systems.
  • Complete electronic documentation, including worksheets, timesheets, and mileage/expense claims.
  • Adhere to all health and safety practices (training provided).
  • Ensure compliance with all engineering practices and report any issues to senior engineers or your line manager.
  • Notify your supervisor or the office of any delays or issues, such as traffic or vehicle problems, and take alternative transport when necessary.
  • Update site logbooks with detailed records of all work performed.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment in good working condition and promptly report any damage, theft, or loss to your Service Supervisor.
  • Uphold punctuality and maintain a tidy work environment at all times.
  • Perform duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook.
  • Communicate progress or concerns regarding any contracts or sites to your line manager via phone and follow up with regular email updates.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Represent the company professionally in issued work attire.
  • Participate in training to expand knowledge of various manufacturers' products.
  • Test completed circuits.
  • Interpret and adhere to CAD drawings.
  • Make informed decisions regarding cable routes.
  • Be prepared to work at heights (training provided).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Proven experience in electrical installation.
  • Proficient in general IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
