Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator

Reed HR have partnered an exciting growing company in Kent who are seeking an HSE Coordinator to join the Health & Safety Department. This role is crucial for coordinating and enhancing environmental and sustainability practices across the business. You will be instrumental in advising on internal process improvements, supporting external audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Drive both external and internal audits related to environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and figures for external reportables.
  • Keep the company's COSHH records and assessments current.
  • Develop and manage the company's Business Continuity Plan.
  • Liaise with management to identify and improve environmental and sustainability processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the company's waste management systems.
  • Create and implement environmental or sustainability policies and procedures.
  • Conduct environmental and sustainability risk assessments or impact assessments.
  • Prioritise workloads and operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Generate reportable figures for business and external bodies.
  • Stay updated with legislative and regulatory changes concerning environmental and sustainability issues.
  • Support or chair environmental and sustainability meetings or committee meetings.
  • Provide advice and support to the business on environmental and sustainability matters.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven background in Health & Safety management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Environmental and Sustainable Management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in compiling and presenting information to groups and key stakeholders.
  • GCSE grades A-C in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management qualification or similar is preferred, or willingness to attain this qualification.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels and through various methods including written, verbal, and face-to-face.
  • Solution-driven with a passion for continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability areas.
