39 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

My client who is a global manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety and Environmental manager to help support services, managements systems and line management on a full time permanent basis. The experienced candidate will ensure full legal compliance of the company health and safety and environments matters are dealt with across the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain health, safety and environmental management systems.
  • Provide advise on HSE matters to line management
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, unsafe acts are reported, records and full investigated. If necessary, repot to HSE Under RIDDOR requirements.
  • Ensure each department adhere to safe working procedures and that this is reviews and updated as necessary
  • Ensure all risk assessments for all know hazards are in place
  • Ensure all employees are suitably trained to carry out their work safety against legislation.
  • Provide performance reports and set targets for improvements
  • Provide weekly // monthly reports to senior staff ie. All accidents, risks which aren’t controlled, SHE department performance.
  • Undertake general investigations and or disciplinaries meetings if required.

Required Skills:

  • Relevant industry Health and Safety qualifications e.g (IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Proven track record in managing site health and safety issues and senior level
  • Technical Skills - Has a sound functional and technical knowledge of production processes
  • Problem solver
  • Organized
  • Open and effective communicator
