We are excited to announce the opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident, and knowledgeable Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join one of our specialist recycling clients based in the southeast, leading the efficient, safe, and responsible recycling solutions for waste electrical and electronic equipment

As the HSE Manager, ideally, you will have experience in a waste, manufacturing, or warehouse environment and currently hold a similar managerial role within the UK. You will be responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental practices and will act as the Responsible Person for the business. 

You should be well-versed in current health, safety, and environmental legislation and capable of confidently managing a variety of situations and personnel.

With a proven ability to organize and deliver relevant health, safety, and environmental training, you will also provide legal guidance on all aspects of H&S. Being proactive in reporting and monitoring health, safety, and environmental matters is key to this role.

Requirements for the role

  • Experience in a similar position in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Full Member of a relevant professional body (or working towards it), such as IOSH, CIWM, RoSPA, or IEMA.
  • NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Environmental Management Diploma.
  • Proven track record of managing within a high-risk environment.
  • Competent in developing and delivering H&S training.
  • Experience liaising with the Health & Safety Executive and the Environment Agency in the UK.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and other business-oriented IT systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels within a company.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in HSE practices on site.
