Company Overview:We are a highly respected law firm seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join our thriving team. This role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and hybrid working opportunities. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the continued success and development of the firm.

Purpose of the Role:To undertake fee-earning work within Family Law and provide a profitable contribution to the firm's operations. This includes supporting the growth of the firm in line with its business plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of Family Law, including separation, divorce, finances upon divorce, and children’s matters.
  • Handle domestic abuse and domestic violence injunctions, divorce, and children law cases.
  • Draft legal documentation such as Cohabitation Agreements and Prenuptial Agreements.
  • Manage TOLATA claims.
  • Maintain financial control, including cash flow management and billing procedures.
  • Provide support to other fee earners, particularly during periods of sick leave or absence.
  • Ensure files are managed according to the firm's risk and file management procedures.
  • Follow all office manual procedures and systems documented in firm training seminars.
  • Supervise the fee-earning work undertaken by colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate:

To be successful, you should possess the following attributes:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent with expertise in Family Law.
  • 2 years PQE or more (this is a guide only).
  • Ability to manage your own caseload with or without support staff.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with practice and case management systems.
  • Ability to assist with the marketing of the department.
  • Proven ability to bill clients in accordance with the firm’s rates and achieve financial targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable and flexible to business needs; occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
