We are seeking a talented Legal Secretary to become an integral part of our highly regarded conveyancing team at our Gillingham office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department.
  • Type legal documents from hand-written notes or transcribe digital dictation.
  • Scan, email, and fax correspondence and documents as required.
  • Perform file management, including opening/closing files and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare trial bundles and photocopy as needed.
  • Handle phone calls, including taking messages and new enquiries.
  • Organise internal/external meetings and manage fee earners' diaries.
  • Provide support across the department or firm as required, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Word, with knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel as a bonus.
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal skills.
  • A well-organised, detail-oriented, and conscientious approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and managing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with impeccable grammar and writing ability.
  • Smart appearance and a professional demeanor.
  • Relevant qualifications or training as a legal secretary and a solid foundation in general education, especially English.
