An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a our clientsfinance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reporting financial information, ensuring accuracy, and supporting business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts in line with group deadlines
- Complete variance analysis and provide commentary on overheads versus budget
- Assist the Financial Controller with commentary to support financial results
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Support the external audit process and respond to auditor queries
- Identify areas for improvement within financial reporting across the business
- Contribute to process improvements within the finance department
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the chart of accounts, ensuring a consistent approach to new nominal codes
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to support business needs
- Undertake additional duties as required
Key Requirements:
- Qualified or newly qualified accountant
- Strong experience with Excel and Sage
- Background in a multi-site or service industry environment
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with high volumes of data
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office
