Position: Field Service Engineer – Machine Tools

We’re recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a leading machine tools and engineering solutions provider.
The Opportunity:
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the installation, servicing, and repair of machine tools at customer sites across the UK. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, ensuring equipment operates efficiently to meet customer expectations. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays are part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and repair both CNC and manual machine tools at customer locations
- Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative service checks
- Diagnose and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Provide customers with technical support and guidance for optimal equipment use
- Complete and maintain detailed service documentation and reports
- Build strong customer relationships by delivering top-tier service and support
Requirements:
- Apprentice-trained with a solid engineering background, ideally in machine tools
- Proven experience working with CNC machines and manual machine tools
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Skilled in fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Able to work independently, managing time and workloads efficiently
- Excellent communicator with a professional customer approach
- Willing to travel extensively, including overnight stays as needed
- Full UK driving licence
