We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join an experienced manufacturing team. This role involves general mechanical servicing, repairs, and installations of all factory plant and services, carrying out improvement projects, and performing routine maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will be action-oriented with a strong technical background and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Carry out duties assigned by the Production Manager, Maintenance, and the Facilities Manager, using own initiative and best judgement.
  • Propose alterations and improvements to all systems, plant, equipment, and tools in the interests of the company, the engineering department, and safety.
  • Attend breakdowns and take appropriate action to return plant to production in a timely manner while adhering to safe working procedures and maintaining a standard of good engineering practice.
  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) as required.
  • Keep clear, complete, and appropriate records of all work carried out.
  • Stay up to date with technical and process developments throughout the company.
  • Follow safe systems of work and comply with Health and Safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in mechanical servicing and maintenance within a factory setting.
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of processes necessary for proper execution of duties.
  • Ability to quickly pick up technical issues and learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to treat all employees equitably and manage without preferential treatment.
  • High integrity and trustworthiness; maintains confidences and admits mistakes.
