Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased)Rochester area£40,000 to £50,000 DOE

Premier Recruitment Group is excited to partner with a well-established food production company. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join their dynamic Engineering Team. This role focuses on ensuring the efficient operation of equipment and machinery through planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, contributing to the smooth running of their modern facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance to optimise machinery performance.
  • Diagnose and respond swiftly to breakdowns, collaborating effectively with teams to minimise downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Liaise with production teams to plan and coordinate machinery downtime for servicing, repairs, or modifications.
  • Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and manage orders for required components.
  • Ensure all work adheres to health and safety standards.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Keep technical skills current by attending workshops, reading industry publications, and benchmarking best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an electrical apprenticeship (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or 18th Edition.
  • A solid foundation in electrical engineering with complementary mechanical skills.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, diagnostic abilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Familiarity with PLC fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively under pressure.

Shift Pattern:

This role follows a 4-on, 4-off rotating shift system with working hours alternating between 07:00-19:00 and 12:00-24:00.
