This role is vital in providing mechanical engineering expertise to design and develop new products while supporting the sustainability of existing ones. The position primarily involves onsite work, especially during the initial 6-8 weeks, to facilitate team integration and project familiarisation. The working days may be reduced depending on project demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing mechanical engineering capability for the design and development of new products
  • Ensuring well-engineered mechanical solutions through sound engineering principles and calculations
  • Supporting verification and successful testing of products
  • Assisting the leadership team in meeting duties and engagements
  • Mentoring and providing developmental support to fellow engineers
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical designer, specifically 2.1.110 Designer(T)
  • Competency in using CAD tools and creating 3D parametric models, particularly in CREO
  • Strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to convey design intent through presentations and engineering drawings, specifically to standards like BS8888/ASME Y14.100
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerance control, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
  • Experience or understanding of the product development lifecycle and highly regulated engineering environments
  • Proficiency in tools such as CREO, WindChill, Teamcenter, DOORs, and JIRA
  • Existing or previous SC level clearance is advantageous
  • Experience in the design and development of electronic, optical, mechatronic systems, electronic packaging, anthropometrics, composite materials, additive manufacturing, and test/measurement equipment
  • Experience in engineering analysis tools for dynamic, structural, and thermal analysis
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and qualifications
