Mon-Thurs 8:00-16:30 / Fri 8:00-13:00

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who has managed the full design lifecycle for our client, a manufacturing company based in the East Kent area.

Working as part of a small team, you will be developing and designing new products, driving growth for the business, as well as offering technical support to other teams internally.

Day to day duties for the Design Engineer role include:

  • Using AutoCAD Inventor to create 3D Designs
  • Documenting validation and verification processes
  • Creating Engineering drawings to meet specifications.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams within the business, coordinating across departments and offering technical support as required
  • Controlling the Bill of Materials
  • Creating Proof of Principle models
  • Designing and developing testing rigs.
  • Following quality and health and safety processes
  • Any other duties as required

The successful Design Engineer will have:

Some solid experience post University working within manufacturing within a Product Design based role this is not a graduate role so I will be unable to consider fresh grads.

  • A proven track record of developing new products on time, within budget, and to specification
  • A degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in designing safety or life-critical products from working within a regulated industry
  • At least a basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
  • An understanding, and ideally some experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
