Payroll Administrator - £28,000 to £30,000 – Hybrid - Gillingham, Kent

A rapidly growing business based in Gillingham, Kent, is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their Finance and HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the company in essential payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. The role offers flexibility and is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time (30 hours per week) work, making it ideal for those looking for a balance between their career and personal life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, including tax codes, deductions, and pensions
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and filing RTI submissions
  • Responding to payroll queries from employees and external agencies
  • Processing statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and pensions
  • Coordinating with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Supporting the Finance team with payroll reporting and reconciliation
  • Assisting with ad-hoc payroll-related tasks and projects

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and UK payroll legislation
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in payroll administration
