Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in roofing to join our dynamic team based in East London/Essex. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record of managing and delivering roofing projects within budget and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Cost Management:
Prepare, manage, and control budgets for roofing projects. Conduct cost analysis and financial forecasts. Monitor project expenditures and identify variances. -
Contract Management:
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare and review contract documents. Ensure all contracts are executed according to company policies and legal requirements. -
Tendering and Estimating:
Prepare detailed bills of quantities and pricing documents. Assess and evaluate tenders and proposals. Provide accurate cost estimates for potential projects. -
Site Visits and Assessments:
Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality. Measure and value work done on-site. Liaise with site managers and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines. -
Risk Management:
Identify and assess project risks. implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues. -
Reporting:
Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management. Maintain accurate records of project documentation and correspondence. -
Client Liaison:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients Address client queries and provide regular updates on project status.
Requirements:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the roofing industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction and roofing materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and QS software.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites across East London and Essex.
