Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join our Finance department. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of previous experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced finance environment. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger Management: Oversee the sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and credit control.
  • Purchase Ledger Management: Manage the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payment runs.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management.
  • Cash Control: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Excel Proficiency: Utilise intermediate to advanced Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced finance department.
  • Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash control.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are desirable but not essential.
