Are you a dedicated History Teacher or Cover Supervisor specialising in History looking for a new, exciting opportunity in Medway? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a History Teacher to teach in one of our Medway-based client schools from January 2025, although there may be a possibility of an earlier start date for the right candidate. The role will be until July 2025 at present, although a temporary-to-permanent offer may also be available.

You would be joining an exciting school with a brand new, state-of-the-art site, excellent in-school & Trust support, and a growing cohort of pupils.

With the GCSE curriculum coming into effect from September 2025, you will be required to teach History to KS3 level, undertaking full teaching commitments.

The role is full time and would be paid on the MPS/UPS scale. Applications will be considered from experienced Teachers, ECTs, and applicants with relevant experience teaching the KS3 History curriculum. For applicants without Qualified Teacher Status, training opportunities may be a possibility through the Trust’s ITT provider.

Role & Requirements - History Teacher:

  • Full teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an alternative, equivalent qualification (e.g. QTLS) are favourable, although applicants with relevant experience will also be considered
  • The ability to comfortably teach History to KS3 level
  • Strong and effective behaviour management in line with school policies to ensure continued student success
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students alike
