SEN Teaching Assistant - GillinghamMake a Difference in a Supportive School Environment

Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a wonderful primary school in Gillingham. This is a great opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with special educational needs and make a real difference in their educational journey.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with a range of needs, helping them access the curriculum, overcome challenges, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom. You will work alongside the class teacher and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) to help students progress
  • Work with the class teacher to deliver tailored lessons that support students' unique needs
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and engaging environment
  • Support students emotionally, socially, and academically to help them reach their potential

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Be passionate about working with children with special educational needs
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Be flexible, patient, and dedicated to supporting children's development
  • Show initiative and a proactive approach in supporting students
