Teaching Assistant (TA / LSA) - Secondary School, Kent Medway

Position: Full-Time

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team at a secondary school in the Kent Medway area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting students and helping them succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to students, assisting with the delivery of lessons across various subjects
  • Offer 1:1 support for students with additional needs (SEN) and help them access the curriculum
  • Support students with their academic development, including assisting with homework, classwork, and exam preparation
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring all students are supported and encouraged to participate
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and support student progress

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of secondary school curriculum and classroom dynamics
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to build rapport with students
  • Intelligent, engaging, and able to adapt support to meet the individual needs of students
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach to supporting students
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • A passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential
