Prospero Teaching Agency are on the hunt for a special needs teacher to join a wonderful special needs school in Gillingham.

The role is to start from January until July 2025, with the option of extension or permanency from September 2025

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The school is an Ofsted rated "Good" school in Gillingham that caters for students aged 4 to 11 years old with special needs- complex learning difficulties including Autism and other sensory impairments.

The school has specialist facilities to meet the unique needs of the students and recently underwent extensive refurbishments to provide provide additional facilities to enhance the learning and development of our pupils. Each department has dedicated facilities.

The school offers various therapies to students, and employs an incredibly dedicated team of special needs teachers and professionals to ensure all students and staff have all they need to reach their potential.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate:

  • Will hold QTS
  • Will be experienced with as a special needs teacher or within a special needs setting, or be quick to learn if they are not experienced with special needs and coming from a mainstream environment
  • Will be able to support children positively in all situations
  • Will encourage independence
  • Will be able to deliver practical, creative and engaging lessons that facilitate independence
  • Will be adaptable, caring and patient
  • Will have a passion for supporting inclusion and equality in education
