We are a specialist independent school for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are seeking a Special Needs Maths Teacher with a robust knowledge of the curriculum to teach secondary-aged pupils and deliver a highly personalised curriculum.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach and engage secondary-aged pupils with ASD, focusing on individual needs to help each student make progress and fulfil their potential.
  • Develop and implement a highly personalised and holistic curriculum that aids in developing pupils’ self-confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Work closely with children, young people, and their parents/carers both inside and outside the classroom to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.
  • Contribute positively to the overall programme of learning for each student, ensuring progression and focusing on pupil outcomes.
  • Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe, supportive environment for all pupils.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities focused on autism best practices and curriculum knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in classroom teaching and working with children who have ASD.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and inspection requirements.
  • Interest and expertise in a particular area of learning or the curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with learners and their parents/carers.
  • Ability to manage behaviour with patience and sound judgement.
