Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants, to recruit a Maintenance Team Leader for its Girvan, South Ayrshire site.

The Maintenance Team Leader role comes with a competitive salary and excellent benefits. The purpose of this role is to ensure the Maintenance Team meets compliance requirements, support the Site Leader in setting and monitoring budgets, KPI's and ensuring targets are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Site Leader you will:

  • Develop and ensure adherence to the Maintenance Plan to meet compliance, safety, and production targets.
  • Maintain operational plant safety and environmental standards, with prompt response to breakdowns.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory and regularly review suitability.
  • Monitor and report on production and maintenance KPIs, ensuring corrective actions are in place.
  • Collect and analyse maintenance data to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Train, manage, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring competence and performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training plans for new team members.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team culture while addressing underperformance and recognising success.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and system improvement.
  • Other duties as required.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Qualified to HND level in an engineering discipline, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing/process environment.
  • Proven ability analysing data and trends.
  • Strong leadership experience and proven ability in leading a team in plant operations or similar environment meeting production targets.
  • Budget management training and/ or experience.

The Maintenance Team Leader role would suit someone who is:

  • Full UK License
  • Pro-active problem solver, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to delegate.
