  • Our client is seeking a C&I Technician with proven experience in a similar role, particularly in environments governed by COMPEX/ATEX regulations.
  • The technician will be responsible for executing planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments.
  • Candidates should have experience working with PLCs and SCADA systems, with a preference for RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk.
  • This position requires flexibility for overtime and out-of-hours support during emergencies or maintenance shutdowns, with travel to the Glasgow site as needed.

Our client is currently recruiting a C&I Technician who will apply electrical technical expertise to safely carry out planned, reactive and emergency work scopes as assigned from the maintenance plan within the maintenance system (CMMS).

This role will also monitor, maintain and troubleshoot issues relating to PLC's and SCADA and other associated equipment.

Other Responsibilities

Strictly follow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Risk Assessments (RA) for all tasks to ensure safe systems of work and to ensure work is completed to the highest standard. Assist where required with the documentation of SOP's and RA

Ensure a quick response time to reactive and emergency maintenance tasks to maintain a safe operation, maximise plant uptime and protect Company assets.

Be involved in root cause analysis investigations for reactive and emergency maintenance to help prevent recurrence of the issue.

Endeavor to assist maintenance and site teams where required with overtime, out of hours support during emergency breakdowns or during maintenance shut down periods

Ensure that opportunities for continual improvement for systems and processes identified are communicated to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Team Leader and be actively involved in the implementation of continual improvement projects.

Experience and Skills

Proven experience in a similar role

Experience of working with similar plant/equipment/instrumentation

Experience within a similar industry working under the remit of COMPEX/ATEX regulations

Experience of working with PLC's and SCADA systems and fault finding (RSLogix 5000/Factory Talk preferred)

Experience maintaining, calibrating and commissioning process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature measurement

Please note this role is predominantly based at our client's South Ayrshire site but the role will involve travelling to their site in Glasgow to carry out planned, reactive and emergency work.
