Contract type: Part Time (18.75 hours) - Fixed Term (31/10/2026)Location: Glasgow, Strathclyde International Study CentreSalary: £13,000 per annumTo monitor students’ progression, provide progression support/ plans and advice to students and provide outstanding student experience support, with the purpose of maximising student outcomes, achievement and satisfaction levels.ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Support students to maximise their chances of automatically progressing to the degree course of their choice whilst ensuring the best possible student experience and achievement.
  • Provide personal tutorage/ Learning conversations to students throughout the semester.
  • Gather student information from Head of Curriculum and Progressions/ Heads of Subject and Subject leads on a weekly basis to establish ways of supporting students.
  • Meet with allocated Academic leads a minimum of once a week to discuss students at risk of not automatically progressing, students with poor attendance and any students who may require additional support through attendance, behavioural, welfare and fitness to study issues.
  • Agree on support plans and facilitate and implement these liaising with the Student Experience office, the Academic team and the students
  • Meet with students who have poor attendance liaising with HoCP and Heads of Subject and updating their support plans as required.
  • Support Tutors with delivering information to students, monitoring attendance proactively and feeding back RPAG data.
  • In liaison with Student Experience and Welfare team, ensure that students are referred to appropriate Study Group, University or external services where appropriate and necessary.
  • Monitor performance data on a weekly basis in preparation for the Student Concerns meetings, and meet with students who are at risk of not automatically progressing.
  • Communicate with non-progresssing students as directed line manager.
  • Support Head of Student Experience in organising events e.g. transition events, guest lectures and workshops for student development.
  • Support HoSE to formalise and organise Student Rep training, ensuring a bank of students is available as and when required
  • Attend the Student and Staff Liaison committee and Follow Up Meetings and ensure record and complete actions in Tracker
  • Ensure effective interaction with Alumni, facilitating involvement of students.
  • Support HoSE and HoCP in communicating and inviting university partners to include Support Services, Partnership Tutors and progressed students to Induction Week
  • Support registration of students and completion of check list
  • Support student ambassadors
  • Support HoSE in organising social activities and student led activities to include Building Futures, Student Union Fairs, MentISC, Progression Award Ceremony and trips
  • To support the Head of Student Experience from time to time with tasks related to the effective running of the ISC.
  • To support and coach colleagues in the correct application of Study Group processes and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Higher Mathematics & English (Nat 5 or relevant experience will be considered)
  • Experience and knowledge of providing academic and/or pastoral support to international/ ESL students.
  • Experience in strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues
  • Experience in using data and reporting systems
  • Experience in being able to time with the ability to prioritise work, forward think and plan
  • Experience in organising events/activities/projects
  • Experience of being flexible and working to tight deadlines
