We are currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled Financial Controller for our well-established manufacturing client in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the finance department, creating robust financial strategies and offering sound financial advice and information to the Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounts and investments.
- Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Job Cost system.
- Monitor, interpret and present monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Ensures compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Develop financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
- Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
- Liaise with auditors for annual monitoring.
- Work closely with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Broad understanding of manufacturing costing.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
- Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software.
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, risk management and forecasting methods.
- Good understanding of economic and banking processes.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication and people skills.
