Financial Accountant | £23 - £28 per hour | 4 month | Glasgow | Hybrid

Morson are partnering with a leading Engineering organisation looking to bring in a Financial Accountant for a period of 4 months initially.

While this is a 4 month interim role initially, there is an excellent chance for the role to be extended or possibly become permanent for the right person.

The role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Glasgow. Reporting to the UK Senior Statutory Financial Accountant, this role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the preparation and filing of UK Statutory Financial Statements for multiple group companies. You will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

  • Extract and compile financial information from various sources to prepare comprehensive year-end UK financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Organise and manage the year-end audit process, ensuring all requests are completed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare annual statutory journals and support financial reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Utilise Oracle accounting software (preferred) and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Skills & Experience Required:

  • ICAS/ACCA post-qualified with 2-3 years of experience (part-qualified candidates with extensive relevant experience will be considered).
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Experience with Oracle accounting software is preferable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
