iMultiply is supporting a fast-growing professional services firm in their search for a Management Accountant to join their team based in Glasgow on a permanent basis.

The Role

The Management Accountant will join a specialist team responsible for delivering high-quality financial support to a portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will oversee the full monthly management accounting cycle and play a key role in developing strong client relationships and delivering accurate, timely financial insight.

This role will suit an individual with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and an interest in contributing to process improvement and best practice across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of monthly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Profit & loss and balance sheet reviews with variance analysis and risk commentary
  • Preparation of VAT returns and support for inspections where required
  • Supporting, reviewing, and coaching Finance Assistants
  • Oversight of bank reconciliations and accounts payable controls
  • Preparation of year-end audit files and liaison with external auditors
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, procedures, and audit standards
  • Contributing to systems development and process improvement initiatives
  • Responding to ad hoc financial queries and supporting client decision-making
  • Supporting senior finance leadership with project and ad hoc accounting work

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in management accounting (ideally within a client-focused environment)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel and general IT proficiency
  • Experience with Business Central (desirable but not essential)
  • Hotel sector experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Supervisory experience or a willingness to support junior team members
  • Studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) or be qualified by experience
