Job Title: Interim Management Accountant (3-6 months)

Overview:A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will support key financial functions, including monthly reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting. This role offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment, provide critical financial insights, and contribute to various business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Take full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the financial results within the respective business unit (BU).
  • Lead the preparation, review, and challenge of budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Maintain and monitor financial control processes to ensure compliance.
  • Proactively suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Liaise regularly with BU stakeholders to help them understand financial results.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Provide detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Support with ad hoc finance tasks as required by the wider team.
  • Contribute to various projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CA, or ACA (or actively studying toward qualification), would consider someone Qualified by Experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar management accountant or finance role.
    • Strong experience in preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit involvement.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
    • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis.
    • Previous experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment is highly desirable.
