Hays are working with a client who are looking for a Senior Tax Assistant to join our team in the Tax department. This role is perfect for someone who is ready to make an effective and positive contribution to our corporate and/or personal tax advisory services.

Your New Role
As a Senior Tax Assistant, you'll liaise with the Head of Department/Manager to deliver tax returns and with clients to obtain information and manage deadlines. You'll prepare tax returns, computations, and schedules, offer advice to clients, and ensure statutory regulations are understood. Attending client meetings and researching tax technical issues will be part of your responsibilities. You'll manage workflow to ensure jobs are delivered on time and meet agreed completion/submission targets. Additionally, you'll manage and control work in progress (WIP) on a monthly basis, prepare fees, keep technically up to date through courses, personal reading, and research, and promote tax services to develop business. Any other appropriate tasks will be directed by the Head of Department/Manager.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll need to be ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent, with proven tax experience at this level (approximately 5 years). Experience in personal and/or corporate tax is essential. You'll need excellent organisational skills and a quality approach to work. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial. You should be enthusiastic, results-driven, cooperative, and have a positive and confident approach to work. Being client-focused and able to work effectively in a team environment or on your own initiative is important.
